A good 10 minute phone conversation will familiarize us a bit and give us a general understanding of your project goals.

Topics we will discuss:

  • Your overall project ideas.
    • A brief discussion of your project ideas will help us see if we are a good fit for your project.
  • The year your house was built.
    • Depending on the era of construction when your house was built, there may be some project challenges worth discussing upfront.
  • Your main reason for the project.
    • Knowing your reason for the project will better guide our recommendations to suit your project goals.
  • Your address.
    • We want to be sure your home is close enough for us to promptly provide our best service. Our service area is roughly within 5 miles of Naperville Il
  • When you are looking to have the project finished.
  • What qualities are you looking for in your contractor.
    • This will help us better serve your expectations, especially if there are finer skill sets your project  may need.
  • How much you are looking to invest.
    • With your overall project ideas, needs and current budget in mind, we will have a good idea on how or if we can viably build your project.

At the end of our conversation, together we will decide if the next step is to schedule a meeting in your home to further discus your project or thank you for your time and wish you well.

Design agreement and document existing structure.

We meet at your home for about an hour and get to know each other a little better. We’ll walk through your project space, further discus your needs, wants and concerns. With your best interest in mind we’ll make some function and value recommendations. We’ll discuss the structure of the budget and the best way forward.

By the end of our meeting, together we will reach one of two decisions:

Decision 1.
We enter a design agreement and receive an agreed upon deposit, usually about 3% of project budget. We photograph,measure and take notes of the existing space. Your deposit would then be credited to your remodel contract, as long as your remodel contract Is signed before the expiration date. A comprehensive estimate and preliminary design are then produced and presented to you for review and approval.

Decision 2.
Together we decide we are not the right contractor for your project, we wish you the best and thank you for your time.

Your projects design begins.

With your wants, needs, ideas and best interest in mind we develop a preliminary layout or layouts of fixtures and utilities. We then meet again to tweak the layout so you love it.

Once the layout for fixtures and utilities are right, we incorporate dimensions to our drawings, produce a selections, quantities and allowance list. Along with your likes list, all drawings with dimensions and design notes are sent to our partnered vendors. We establish contact and appointments are made to visit their showrooms for selections. Or if using a vendor of your choosing

Having made all selections and orders prior to any build makes for a much smoother and pressure-free build as everything is already accounted for and incorporated to the design.

If need be, while final selections are being made, we make an additional visit to your home to further address possible challenges we may face (typically involving structure and/or utilities), our cabinet fabricator will also make a visit to confirm final measurements and rendering.

We enter our construction contract.

Once final drawings and selections are made we have all the information needed to present you with our construction contract. Our construction contract includes a comprehensive scope of work, selections and allowances lists, estimated project duration and payment terms based on project milestones.

Remember, your design fee will be credited toward your construction deposit, as long as it is before the expiration date.

Once you approve your contract and we receive your construction deposit, the real fun begins!

A dedicated project manager is assigned for your build.

Your project is then uploaded to our online platform where our team of craftsmen can see their scope of work and project development.

Our online platform also helps keep our project manager on task and ready to answer your questions at any time throughout your project.

We schedule a pre-construction meeting at your home for an introduction, project walk through, finalize logistics, staging (how we’ll set up shop) and ensure any special needs you may have are properly addressed.

Your home is prepared for the project (protect existing within workspace / set up dust management) and construction begins!

Time to enjoy with peace of mind

Before your remodel is completed, we do a final approval walk through with you. We take care of final details and show you the recommended care for your finishes.

Then it’s your turn to enjoy creating memories in your new space with the added piece of mind from our 5 year workmanship guarantee. Know that Capital Renovation & Construction will be ready and willing to promptly take care of issues that may arise.

How We Price

After we get an idea of your project goals and have assessed your space, we’ll discuss our ideas with you and give you estimates and decide upon a budget. The cost can vary drastically from project to project, depending upon the work to be done, the size and structure of the space, and the materials you want to use. We’ll work with you to come up with a design and plan that makes the most sense.

We recommend researching pricing ahead of time to get an idea of how much projects like yours cost. Check out our pricing guides for example estimates based on our previous work. Please keep in mind that no two projects are exactly the same, so the costs are just to give you a ballapark idea.
